Big data mining in Life Sciences
This two-day hands-on training (6-7 December 2016) is organised by Biopark Formation and the Interuniversity Institute of Bioinformatics in Brussels - (IB)².
The global COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the need for rapid and open data exchange to accelerate scientific research. To address this, the European Commission and EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), together with EU Member States and partners such as ELIXIR, have created and now manage the European COVID-19 Data Platform.
In a series of six webinar sessions, experts from ELIXIR and the global Galaxy community from the US, Australia and Europe will demonstrate how open access and open science are fundamental for fast and efficient response to public health crises. The series follows on the first Galaxy-ELIXIR webinar series organised in April-May 2020. It will introduce the latest Galaxy tools developed for working with SARS-CoV-2 data and discuss some of the challenges in accessing, analysing and interpreting them.
This one-day online event is dedicated to research software and research software developers and aims to improve software used for scientific research and share experiences.
The day is composed of two parallel tracks with presentations and workshops on topics like software quality, (cloud) infrastructure, reproducibility and devops. Visit https://www.be-rse.org/rsdd2020 to discover the full program, register for the event or submit a proposal for a presentation or workshop.
The 2021 Galaxy Community Conference (GCC2021) will be held online from 28 June to 10 July 2021. Having the event in a virtual format presents many challenges, but also offers opportunities for making it more accessible and affordable than an in-person event. GCC2021 is embracing those opportunities and announces
On June 17-18 2021, the Helis Academy, with Data Analysis and Data Stewardship as one of its pillars, is organizing 2 half-day virtual events related to “Optimizing industry readiness in The Netherlands and Flanders”.
The innovation and SME event for the Agritech sector took place from 10 to 12 March 2021. Participants were immersed in a world of data-driven innovation, with a mix of high-level keynote presentations and hands-on sessions to discuss and interact with other companies, academics and ELIXIR partners. There was also the possibility to interact with SMEs and Start-Ups during a set of round tables. All this with an interactive virtual platform offering an immersive online experience.
