USE-1PLUSMG is an implementation project that builds on the European 1+ Million Genomes (1+MG) Initiative and European Health Data Space (EHDS)  to support the deployment and operation of the future Genome EDIC. USE-1PLUSMG will support the deposition of genomic and health data into the infrastructure, facilitate secure access and analysis of these data, and develop citizen-facing tools that ultimately will benefit from the improved diagnosis and help individuals understand and exercise their data rights, while ensuring compliance with European regulatory frameworks and FAIR principles.

By strengthening national readiness and supporting the operational sustainability of the Genome EDIC, USE-1PLUSMG will contribute to a secure and federated European genomic and healthcare data ecosystem. The project will enable large-scale cross-border use of genomic data for research, innovation, public health, and personalised medicine.

ELIXIR Belgium is involved in WP2: Requirement and release frameworks, technical governance. The team will assist on requirement identification, maintenance, integration, and validation of the successful delivery of the components and tools required for the Genome EDIC.
