We are pleased to share the news that ELIXIR Belgium has a new Node Coordinator! Karolina Slowicka has joined the team in September and she will take over the tasks from Kim De Ruyck, who has successfully fulfilled this role for the past decade. Kim will continue to play a critical role in ELIXIR Belgium as deputy Head of Node.  

Karolina obtained her PhD at the VIB - UGent Center for Inflammation Research in 2018 , working on intestinal inflammation and cancer. After gaining experience in scientific research and project management outside of academia, she is delighted to return to VIB after seven years, where she now supports ELIXIR Belgium and the VIB Data Core Team.
