Research Infrastructures (such as ESFRI’s) are characterized by the very significant data volumes they generate and handle but the research data landscape is still fragmented. The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) wants to address the current situation including the support of thematic clusters of Pan-European research infrastructures dedicated to the EOSC.

Michel Schouppe, senior advisor at the European Commission, will introduce the audience to the goals, the timing, the stakeholders and the different committees/commissions/governance boards which will shape the (EOSC). Frederik Coppens (VIB) and Klaas Deneudt (VLIZ), both involved in the ESFRI-cluster projects in the life-sciences and the environmental sciences, will sketch their activities in these projects. Bart Dumolyn (EWI) will give insight in the Flemish FOSB initiative (Flemish open science board) supporting the EOSC, and the EOSC Governance Board.

This event is organized by the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation (EWI) of the Flemish government. Program and registration
