In September 2017, Flanders and Walloon Metabolomics groups organized the first Belgian Metabolomics Day. The purpose of this meeting was to get to know each others research interests and to increase interaction between the different research groups. As such, the presentations focused on providing overviews of the research activities and the facilities.

This event, initiated by the Netherlands Metabolomics Centre (NMC) and supported by ELIXIR Belgium, attracted 79 participants representing various research groups from all Belgian Universities.
